Born of both Devilkin and Fiendkin blood and birthed in fire, Vex found himself on the front lines of the Tribal War unable to choose a side. This conflict brought him before Apophis whom, with no regard for his own life, he threatened to destroy. Apophis was so impressed by Vex's courage that he appointed Vex as a General and tasked him with ending the Tribal Wars peacefully. In exchange, Vex would be given regency of the Fiendkin and the servitude of the enslaved Engineers, who would teach Vex to control the technology needed to equip his Legion.
