@CohLysion This is a great idea, though a lot of the draw of Discord is not just talking in game but speaking to your fellow gamers. I would expect it to better as an option not a replacement.

It's quite likely a V-Ram issue. I have the same problem with my mac (512mb v-ram). If I am not mistaken, the devs are aware of the issue.

I have made a habit of adding my hero to hotkey 1 right after gamestart. Really helpful Also double tapping ` will center the camera on your largest army bob.

I agree with Dantaro, though I think its to do with move speed feeling slow VS the new larger map size more then anything.

To further add to this point. I think the static nature of gold income, and the limited spending options (8 at most at the moment) means there will likely be an "optimal" gold spending path for every squad.
