Water colors!

Hi Artillery, got a question/bug report for you.

I run Win10x64, an i5-3570K, 16 GB RAM, and an AMD HD6900 which feeds two monitors at 1920x1080. When playing the game, it looks oddly layered and a bit washed out. The unit models and minimap seem fine, but the shadows and terrain seem to have odd coloration to them. This might be normal for the settings I'm playing on, but I want to be sure.

If you need any more information I'm happy to provide it. After a few more rounds, I'll be posting some actual gameplay impressions, but this won't change as I develop more skill, so I figured I'd post it now.

This is a bug we've seen on Windows 10, and on some Intel integrated GPUs. We know about it, and hope to have a fix by the next playtest weekend.

You can try updating your drivers - other than that we don't have a fix right now. Sorry!

  • Thanks for the update. It doesn't actually impact gameplay for me, so I'm more than happy to play around it.

OH weird. Yeah that doesn't look like the correct visuals at all! I'm going to try to move this to Help & Support real quick so we can get ya all set up

LOL Dammit you answered it already Mark. I proudly moved it to another forum though.

  • If I can add to this, I have Windows 10x64 and a Radeon R9 290, I run in windowed mode (haven't tried fullscreen) and I get the same visuals as Jaceive does in the screenshots. I do not have the same problem when watching a replay through Chrome.

It doesn't really bother me but it does look much prettier without the bug <3 <3

  • I can only say that I found this bug as well:

I sent off an email to support, and they are aware of it, but I might as well post it here too so all the information is in one place.

It doesn't seem to affect game play. I played my first match, and nothing bad seemed to happen (well, my hero died a couple times, but I doubt that was graphics).

    For my end:
    Intel I5 6600k processor
    AMD r9 380 graphics card
    windows 10
    directx 12
    8 gig ram

All my drivers seem to be working fine, so I can't find an issue on my end.

If you need anymore info from me, please let me know what you want.

Also, I expect these sorts of bugs from a pre-alpha, so not terribly suprising. But I must compliment you on the stability of the game and launch platform. It seems to be pretty good at not failing randomly. More stable then some beta's that I have played.
